Winter is in full swing. Access to a lot of higher elevation terrain is impossible without a snow machine. Most of Utah’s snowpack is sitting at over 100 percent. Things are looking good for Summer in the high country.

We have had quite the warm start to Fall, but snow is in the forecast again.

With the weather starting to turn, streamer fishing should be picking up. On the sunny days we have seen some October Caddis, midge, and blue wing hatches. The terrestrial fishing has been pretty exceptional lately. The overnight lows should be bringing the terrestrial fishing to a close, but it will mean increased blue wing activity.

In certain areas, brown trout are beginning to spawn. Please be mindful of spawning fish.
